Our surprise visitors

In the past we have had wild mallards visiting the chicken field. But this is the first time a pair have flown into the garden by our house.

They seemed very friendly and were happily sifting through the grass and did not mind our close presence.

Unfortunately Soft Cell, who had been watching the ducks intently, decided he would creep up on them. I called him to stop and the ducks took flight over the fence and disappeared. I hope they will return but doubt it now they know there are cats on the prowl.
