Northern Mockingbird
The northern mockingbird is one of our year round residents. And one of my favorites.
The extra is a white-throated sparrow. They're singing their little hearts out now, while preparing to leave for points well north of here to spend the summer and have their babies. I think they leave around the first of May - but I'm never here to notice the day because I will be in West Virginia for the New River Birding & Nature Festival from 4/28 to 5/5. Typically the white-throated sparrows are here when I leave and gone when I get home.
Also - first ruby-throated hummingbird spotted today! They're back!
