Everyday I write the Book
Today was grey. Was the only grey day so far. And today was going to be the Gondola up the Nevis Range, but due to high winds it was closed for the day. There was typical scottish Drizzle and it was definitely not a good hair day.
We took a drive to the Commando Memorial at Spean Bridge- the monument was there, but no view, because of the low laying cloud. The morning was saved by J seeing a field of Highland Moos. Himself pulled the car into a space and we headed back.
Two beautiful, but very lazy orange moos and one lovely black one who was delighted to come over the talk to us.
We then took a drive up Glen Nevis. More Highland moos who were even more accommodating. More Rain. More one track roads. And right at the end was the entrance to the Glen that I remembered from 1984.
We started off up the track, but after maybe 400 yards, himself and I realised that we were completely inappropriately dressed for walking on a slippy, wet rocky path. We headed back to the car and played squares.
The kids headed onward and upward - and we sat and designed our new allotment (Peas, Beans, Sunflowers, Leeks and Parsnips - all my favourite things).
We never finished the game - I kept getting distracted and discussing all sorts.
The kids eventually arrived back - maybe 2 hours on. Exhausted but happy - the Glen was everything I had told them to be. Another World. An amazing place.
We drove back - half way and tried to fly the drone, but it wouldn't work! We were so upset.
We headed back and had a lovely dinner and an early night - boat tomorrow.
