Dinosaur

Steve took the boys to Little Fishes this morning giving me chance to get the craft for this afternoon prepped. And this afternoon, it was our Home Ed Christmas Party!

So, a lovely lovely day. Fiddling with crafts, and a christmas party. Ben won pass the parcel and looked so happy playing with new friends - he's just fitted straight in to the group, made friends, found his way around and settled in. I barely saw him for dust today! He called me over when they sat down to eat, and came and hovered near me when they did a wrap the snowman game. Charley had a ball as well, wandering around and squeaking, stealing the pucks from the herbert hockey game, wandering off and investigating the fire extinguishers... he enjoyed himself. And I was happy too, seeing my boys so settled and confident. The craft went down well, I used an idea that Diane did at tots last week and expanded it (due to confines of what bits I had available!) to make reindeer, santa and angel decorations. And we made a snowglobe too although my jar hasn't sealed particularly well though!!

Everything changed on the way home though. Charley screamed most of the way, Ben was silent. Got home, Ben was sick all over the sofa. Sofa stripped, Ben stripped, washed and re-dressed, and then he spilt juice all over himself so that required another change. Spiderman reappeared this time! I gave him a bib for dinner. Which now has baked beans all over it!! Charley slept a lot; played with his beans, an empty bowl, an empty carton of cream, his juice beaker; shouted, played. Didn't want to go to bed, again! Ben asked to go to bed, and went to sleep, and Charley mucked about. Then grumped.

Eventually he asked for food so we offered porridge. He ate quite a lot! And was MUCH more chipper after that. We watched him find one of Ben's dinosaurs, walking it around and roaring :)

And then he smashed his face on the arm of the sofa, and his forehead on the wall (this is added to falling into a chair this morning) and finally gave in and curled up on me to nurse himself to sleep. Then wriggled off me to sleep on the sofa...

Poor kid, his teeth must be really bothering him. He's refusing all sorts of foods at the moment too :(

Been a stressy evening and I'm glad it's bedtime.
