Redpoll on a stick
It was lovely and sunny for about half an hour and then it returned to the showers and grey skies and sooo cold, down to minus figures again.
I did not stay outside for long and I think Piney had the same idea as we did not spot her at all, must be nice and cosy amongst the fibreglass ;)
The Jackdaws were gathering horse hair from the back of one of the horses, it had three on it's back at one stage but with a flick of it's til they were away. This redpoll has been down quite a few times now with a few others.I'm sure it can make it's feathers appear redder when a female is around. This one is ringed, we have several birds that turn up with rings including some chaffinch and a Great tit.
The sheep have been moved ito the field right next to us.We may have to phone the Farmer as one has been left behind on the otherside of the fence ,it must have been hiding in the burn.
Had a tasty roast chicken for dinner, just what was needed on a cold day :)
