The Union of South Africa on its way to York

Well I thought I'd better get back and start posting even though I'm back on antibiotics. The previous chest infection was finally beaten at the end of October but it had been a very debilitating 5/6 weeks. I didn't begin to feel anything like my normal self until the end of November. It was déjà vu on Wednesday night as I had all the initial symptoms from my last infection. The Doc this time wasn't messing - straight on antibiotics for me. Enough of that...

This morning The Christmas Yorkshireman wended its way from London Victoria to York and passed very near to us on its route. Out before breakfast to catch it - the weather was foul, rain & wind. There were 5 intrepid train buffs with cameras all who wanted to capture a very special engine. We'd been led to believe it would be Sir Nigel Gresley but in the end we had to settle for The Union of South Africa (also designed and built by Gresley in 1937). The blip is of the train heading for Sharnbrook Summit. It's not my best shot because guess what, I forgot to turn on the image stabilisation but it will have to do.
