Alas poor Gardening Scotland!

A day spent with mum is a day well spent. Rarely have the chance to do it but it's always grand to have the whole day in her company.

But as for Gardening Scotland? This will be our last visit, it has lost its spark these past few years and the age demographics and general "hacked offness" of the visitors told that story too. Despite lovely efforts by some growers and a great SRUC effort this year, the organisers idea of what makes for a good visitor experience has gone oot the very tired looking windae in favour of cramming in unrelated, uninspired, depressing mass produced plastic ridden junk. How come in a national gardening show there are more double bed, double glazing and write your own will here salesman than inspiring plant ups and artists wares? Jings! And what's the continued nonsense of walking through the pot holed ridden, rubbish strewn car park back entrance instead of the main entrance and lovely maintained garden entrance and pond? And instead of arriving at show gardens, you arrive at a closed stage with no performers and no green, just tarmac. Where's the beachygrove gairden folk that you used to see folk excitedly rush off to hear them interviewed by a Weel kent media face in the packed out die hard gardeners tent, the strawberry and cream folk have vanished, as have the showstopping gardens in the big hall. Where's the push on helping folk avoid plastic in the garden....it was abso-bloody-lutely everywhere. But worst of all, Gardening Scotland? By virtue of this blip you've just turned me into the equivalent of those Sunday Post letter complaints writers I used to take the mick out of in my youth. Aghhhhh....am...I....old?????????????
