More fireworks
We managed to catch Festival City's fireworks tonight. :)
The day began at 10am when we met up with friend Pam from church at Cafe Ceramique. It took us a while to find a piece we wanted to paint. Once again, G & I had a joint venture (see extra).
We painted and did lots of chatting - mainly about Awana. Ceramics painted, we had lunch before going our own ways. We got home just in time to catch the D-Day celebrations from Portsmouth. It was amazing watching it. Very sobering.
Salvation Army meeting later on... I had the surprise of my Uncle and cousin walking in towards the end. We were going to try to catch the Al Seef fireworks again but saw one of the ladies from the congregation waiting for a taxi, so gave her a ride. She was headed to Festival City whose display, as you can see, was on a much grander scale than yesterdays! It was at 10pm though, so there was a bit of waiting around.
I have to say, I have never seen so many cars in Festival City. I made the quick decision of turning off the road. Katie had to jump out and walk a bit. We drove over to the Jadaf shipyard and watched from across the Creek. G picked the spot to park up and wait. It turned out to be perfect. :)
