Emu

Emu with caramelized pears, arugula, and walnuts. Wine: the rest of the Australian shiraz from last night.

This was quite a delicious dish. I had never had emu before, but I can recommend it—very similar to steak, but with a much better nutrition profile. I don’t care for the texture of pears (too gritty), but I tolerate them occasionally because they have a pleasant flavor and my husband likes them. The arugula was the star of the meal though—we just joined a CSA, and the arugula was part of our first box which Ipicked up today. I love arugula, but this is, by far, the best I’ve had.
