On the waterfront

Always a joy to walk down by the waterfront and drink in activity afloat. Today, it did mean dodging some pretty heavy showers so there was little opportunity of simply taking in the scenery.
But at high tide, Eling Creek on the upper reaches of Southampton Water is irresistible if you want to relax by the water. The creek is home for the Eling Sailing Club, and is a regular launching pad for jet skiers, and on a sunny day you’ll find families indulging in the sport of crabbing.
Today, the sole movement I witnessed were two rowers making their way along the creek and back again.
But then, with those showers seemingly too frequent it was neither a day for basking on the shore, nor necessarily messing about in boats.
