Rock Pool land
A trip up the coast today.
We started off at Craster, and a walk up to Dunstanburgh Castle. As everywhere else we have been thus far the air filled with the sound of singing skylarks. Up towards the castle, we were excited to see a large pod of dolphins breaching near the shore as they headed southwards.
Three things of note in this blip. The castle of course. The rock, which is the same dolorite that forms the Great Whin Sill which the central part of Hadrians Wall sits on. And a chap painting the castle, easy to miss amongst the rocks.
We followed this with a visit to Bamburgh, and then Lindisfarne. Returning south we called into Seahouses to check out the lie of the land for Sunday, and then had a bit of a beach walk at Embleton.
All in all a lovely day.
