fire and ice

The snow is still here, just...it has started melting into a mushy, muddy mess but the overcast skies today kept the sun off it and the temps barely made it above freezing so it isn't gone yet. The clouds had just started to clear from the west as the sun was setting, giving this fiery sky which looked incredible against the snowy landscape.

The boys built snowmen and snow forts, to have snow wars ... they traipsed in and out a million times in their wet muddy clothes & boots, so I gave up on any plans to mop and just laid old towels on the floor. I feel like I pulled of icy wellies and hung up wet things all day long, but I suppose it is worth it for all that outdoor fun they've been having :0)
