A Boggart
I returned to Barley, near Pendle Hill, this morning and walked around the Pendle Sculpture Trail and Black Moss reservoirs. I found this Boggart lurking in the woods :-))
I also spotted a family of ducks out for a swim and a heron on a barn roof - see extras
Took about three hours and I had a cuppa and a bun when I got back to the refreshment cabin in the carpark.
Called in to Gawthorpe Hall on the way back to collect Mrs madwill, then we will be heading home to Yorkshire.
I mentioned yesterday about having to change rooms at the hotel…well we suffered a lot of noise in the original room we had. We arrived on Sunday in the middle of a wedding and the music and dancing went on until the early hours. Then on Tuesday there was a school prom - which was noisy but finished at 11. Then on Wednesday there were two proms going on - one of them in a suite opposite our room and the kids were spilling out through the fire doors into the courtyard below our window and the noise was just abysmal.
Anyway Mrs madwill went to see the manager - and complained in her best ‘stern teacher’ voice. Profuse apologies from the manager, a promise to move us to the other side of the building and a refund for one night! We got the move and there were complimentary drinks vouchers for us when we got back from Lytham!
Masses of photo processing to do - but I don’t know when as we will be busy this weekend.
