Uyea

The mist lifted just after my Blip last night, but woke to a misty morning.  It cleared again, warm and some sunny spells.

Up early, and spent the morning around the caravan and Tangwick.  Headed out to explore at 11am.  Our travels took off road, and ended up at Uyea.  Got back to the caravan, and friends Robert and Shannon soon arrived.  We've had a barbecue for tea, and then mam and Elise popped by.  We're all off to the Hillswick Carnival this evening, and the dance after.

It was a bumpy road to Uyea, and parked up at the old township.  After looking around the settlement, we headed over the hills to the cliffs.  I even got photos of a red-necked phalarope.  Uyea is the oldest place in Shetland, over 2 billion years old.  The scenery is outstanding, and the beautiful beach has 2 main entrances.  The tide was low enough for me to cross over to the isle too.  Been years since my last visit here, and really must come more often.  Taken at Uyea, Northmavine.
