Surprise!

The iris wasn't there mid-morning.
I planted it when I dug the pond something like 17 years ago.
This is the first time it has flowered. 
Talk about a late developer.

The water lily has been flowering for about a week.

Apart from doing a bit of shopping I have done nothing today - a lot of that being down to having a terrible night's sleep.
I have acquired a terribly sore throat and what I suspect will be yet another chest infection from the monsters.
