3D specs - hideous self portraits!
James and I went to see "Bolt" at the cinema in 3D today. I didn't have high expectations of 3D films, as the last one I went to was JAWS 3D (so you can imagine how long ago that was - back in the days of cardboard 3d specs with one red lens and one green one - and when I say lens, I means thin polythene/plastic stuff).
I have to say, I was pleasantly surprised, in fact almost bordering on impressed. The 3D effect was genuine - there was real depth to the trailers and to the film and a couple of moments where things really did come flying out of the screen at you. I enjoyed it, so did James.
The down side was that when we came out of the cinema, both of us felt quite dizzy for quite a while. James hadn't been feeling particularly great before we went, and the dizziness was the final straw...so the poor wee man came home and fell asleep on our bed for an hour, and woke up only to let me put him in the car to take him to his Dad's house. Little bit of a temperature and feeling a bit 'icky...and trying to be brave and not cry, when I think all he wanted was his mum to give him a cuddle, which clearly I can't do when he is at his Dad's. Fortunately, his Dad has let me know that he has perked up a bit, and went to bed early to get some rest before school tomorrow, so I am less worried.
My original plan to blip was James and I, in the style of the Two Ronnies sat at the kitchen desk, with "Its goodnight from him..." as the theme. HOwever, James was definitely not up for that. But I felt it necessary to blip the ridiculous glasses (which actually have polarising lenses in them...so I am figuring out what I can do with them....)
I had to put a half decent shot in to balance the ridiculous-ness of the glasses, and my silly "ooooh matron" pout in the right hand picture.
Right, am off to upload and order my photobook that I have made. Then bath and early night ready for another week at work with my cherubs.
