A NIGHT VISITOR!

Because it was such a lovely evening we decided to sit outside on the terrace under the parasol.

We could hear lots of fluttering and when it finally settled realised it was an Elephant Hawk Moth.

I remember many years ago finding the caterpillar and it is massive.  As thick as my index finger with a hook on the end.

Now it's Monday and very warm so we are taking Matthew down to Sidmouth hoping it will be cooler and hoping the woofs can have  a paddle.
