See A Penny
Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,
Day 2 of returning to work was definitely an improvement on yesterday. Mainly because I went out for lunch.
Analyst Bucky is leaving and a dozen of us went to Yamato, a Japanese restaurant. The food was lovely and I was very happy because I found sharers!
I was sitting next to Scott who I know mainly due to reputation because of his Toffee Penny shame. During a quiet time in the office, analyst Claire brought in a tub of Quality Street and everyone had to pick out their favourite so that they could compare and contrast*. The first handful of people picked out the usual favourites - the green triangle, the purple one and the caramel swirl, but when the tub was passed to Scott, he VOLUNTARILY (with all varieties available) CHOSE A TOFFEE PENNY!
No one EVER picks the toffee pennies first. They are always the last ones left in the tub, and at that point, most people walk away empty handed and disappointed (before deciding ‘f it’ 10 minutes later and going back).
Food perversions aside, It turns out that Scott is very good company. As well as working in IT, he also works as a part-time youth counsellor in a school and a drugs counsellor in the evenings. He reckons it’s easier dealing with addicts than some of the people in our organisation!

PS I told the Eldest Mini Princess about Toffeepennygate and unbelievably she said they are her favourites too... I will miss her.
*Yep - that’s how rock and roll IT gets
