Mousa Broch
A breezy day and was pouring down all morning. It stopped by lunchtime, and a sunny and warm day, and calm sunny evening. 22 degrees most of the afternoon.
A lazy morning about the house, but got out after lunch. Been for a walk around Fladdabister, and then headed to mam's. Mam was out, and dad was heading out in the boat, so headed out for a run too. Cut the grass this evening, and off to work in the pub later.
Spot of luck catching dad, and he took us off in the boat. He did a bit of fishing for mackerel, and also we fed his pet bonxie (Great Skua). Peerie Brian hadn't been to Mousa before, so we steamed over. We didn't spend long in the isle, just a quick walk up to the lamby house, no time to get to broch, but we got a wonderful view from the sea. Mousa is were some of my dad's ancestors come from, but the broch is the most impressive building on the isle. Roughly 2,000 yeary old, it's done well to keep standing, and at 13m high. The best example of a broch in the world! A view of Mousa Broch and the Haa.
