Foula Harbour

A breezy day, but that breeze was warm, 25 degrees and sunny all day, summer is here :)

Up early, and got everything packed up after breakfast.  Took it easy, and enjoyed a stroll down to the pier, and said our goodbyes for this trip.  Arrived in Waas by lunchtime, and headed to the Skeld Regatta for lunch.  Back home this afternoon, and what a day, so enjoyed a few pints this evening, and met up with some visitors from the yachts.  Off out with friends later.

What a brilliant couple of days in Foula.  Enjoyed meeting up with folk I've not seen in long, and enjoyed the amazing scenery and wildlife.  I'll try and not leave it another three years before I return.  This is the Foula mail boat, the New Advance.  The harbour is really only good in the summer months, the seas are too much for boats docked during winter.  The ferry is always docked in the cradle all year round, insurance purposes, and safety.  This is the ferry coming down out of the cradle, and the pier crane alongside.  Taken at Foula Harbour.
