Aff at da Creels
A breezy day at times, but lovely and warm, and sunny spells breaking through.
Up early, and the isle was buzzing with activity. Headed south for a walk after breakfast, stopped off at the airport, and chatted with various folk. Next I bumped into my old pal Magnus, and he offered to take us out for a boat trip later. Headed south to the Biggins, and spoke with Steven Gray for a while. After lunch, more walks but too wet on the ground for the Sneck ida Smaalie, so ended up along Andrew and Andrea Ratter. After tea, Magnus popped by and took us out on the boat. Feet up now.
It's been a brilliant trip out in the boat, Magnus (Gear) was working with creels, and great to watch. I even got a chance at the wheel for a bit. He took the whole way around the isle, and the cliff scenery was spectacular! The Kame is the highest sheer cliff in the UK, standing at 1,200ft. Me and Magnus go way back, and even worked together in Lerwick nearly 15 years ago. Here's Magnus below some smaller cliffs at Mucklaberg and the Noup behind, which is over 800ft. This really has been a major highlight. Taken at Mucklaberg, Foula.
