Carnac Point

We had to go back to Inverness to pick up the fan that was not in yesterday ( Mike’s fitted it now and it’s working well ).
It had been raining most of the morning but had stopped although the sky was still grey.
We went to Carnac Point for a walk. Lots of work has been done to the area recently providing a good path and lots of benches to sit on.
We watched the crane lift logs from the lorries and placing them on a huge pile. As we were nearing the end the lifeboat came out. It’s the Thurso boat and I watched it come in this morning so think it may have been in for some maintenance.
The whole area has changed a lot since the building of the canal and then the railway.Carnac Point did not exist until around 1870 when it starts to appear on Ordnance survey maps, providing a breakwater and now has a lighthouse/ beacon painted green at the end. Great views both ways down the Firth.
