Goethea Strictiflora

Sadly, this rather unusual flower is certainly not growing in my garden :-((

A rare tropical plant from Brazil ..... unusual because the flowers grow along the main stems of the plant.

A bus journey, a subway ride and a walk took me to the Glasgow's Botanic Gardens and the incredibly warm glasshouses where I spotted the unusual flower.

It has been a very hot, sticky day ...... the kind of day when I wish I was back at the seaside!
