After the rain

When I first got up this morning I thought that there might be few photo oportunities as it had rained heavily overnight and it was still very overcast and drizzly. However, by the time I took Zoe, our Hungarian Vizsla out for her morning walk the sun was shining and there were several places where the raindrops were clingng to the bushes. It was literally just round the corner from our house that I was able to grab this rose hip blip.

When I returned home I decided to continue the water droplet theme and make my first attempts to capture water droplets landing. I thought my Canon 7D would be ideal for this as it has a maximumv frame rate of up to 8 frames per second. I had a frustrating but nonetheless enjoyable hour trying to capture the elusive water droplet landing. My hit rate was very low with maybe 1 in 25 images that were at all acceptable. My real problem was that the printing ink syringe injectors that I was using to create the droplets tended to squirt a stream rather than a single droplet. None of my images have made it as a blip as they were not pin sharp. However I will definitiely return to this activity in future when I have more effective equipment. I am afraid it will not be anything like the sort of equipment suggested on the internet sites giving advice on water droplet photography as The Timer costs about $350. Any advice from fellow blippers would be very welcome.
