Embroidery Star
Yesterday was a a bit of a difficult day as Layla, our greyhound who has bone cancer in her right shoulder, was very unsettled and limping very badly. I feared the time had come to think abut having her put sleep. Fortunately her painkillers seemed to kick in later in the day and she was much happier. After consulting the vet we have changed her medication to a quicker acting painkiller. and this seems to have helped as she is much brighter today.
As the weather was not that bright in any case I decided it needed to be a inside blip and looking for a macro subject I stumbled on the wicker work bowl which has a beautiful coloured embroidery star in its middle. Totally impractical because if you were to use it you could never clean it but certainly eye-catching. It was given as as present to my wife when we were on safari in Tanzania. We had become very friendly with another couple who had shared our 4X4 throughout the safari and we were delighted to find when we finished off our trip with a lazy beach holiday in Zanzibar, that they were booked into our hotel. We met up regularly at meal times and as my wife had her birthday during that week they were kind enough to buy her a small present which was this wicker basket. It brings back memories of a fantastic holiday and of the only holiday couple with whom we have remained in touch. Thanks for my blip , Linda
