Fallow Deer
The heavy showers seemed less frequent later this afternoon so I went out for a couple of hours with no real plan.
I drove down to the coast thinking I might try to capture the wild waves but the tide wasn't right and the sea didn't appear to be very dramatic.
Following the coast road I ended up at Powderham Castle, home to the Earl of Devon and to a large herd of Fallow Deer.
Luckily they were some within reach of my long lens.
Many were just lazing about enjoying the warm sun and, no doubt, drying out but this young buck was more active, eyeing up the green boughs of a over hanging tree.
