Growth

We have two of these plants in our garden. I'm not sure what they are - some waxy leafed evergreen species part way between a privet and a laurel. They were among the first plants we put in the ground here over seven years ago. They grow very slowly, but constantly, as demonstrated by this fresh green bud. I like these bushes.

I've always idly assumed that they were a slow growing type of bush. Of course I now consider that the reason for their slow rate of growth may be a consequence of the soil in that part of our garden being poor and unsuitable for their healthy growth. Who knows what heights they may have attained by now in a more favourable environment.

Life, eh?
