It’s A Long Way
Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,
Nope, not to Tipperary.
I went for a cycle with the Doctor today. “Let’s go for 20 or 30 miles,” he said.
43 MILES LATER. FFS. These bloody cyclists that guess the distance and get it wrong. It’s never bloody shorter. I was TRICKED into going further (and 8 hours of drinking the previous day probably wasn’t the ideal prep).
Ok, I admit it - it was a lovely way to spend an afternoon. We cycled on country roads to Gifford, had coffee and a scone and headed back. It was a gorgeous sunny day. We passed through lots of beautiful countryside and I commented that I like the fields with the neat and tidy hay bales The Doctor feels the same way and we both had a “this is why we work in IT” moment. Cycling feels like a very productive way of socialising - chatting and exercising. I like doing both of those things. Especially the chatting bit.
It’s implementation weekend so I had to go to work this evening. Everything was running fine so it was actually quite boring - definitely the best case scenario.
