Dinner

It was a small gathering of Bennett's for the new year dinner as many are too far flung, or full of lurgy to make it. Carlos treated us to his culinary skills with spiced lentil soup and a Jamie Oliver steak pie which was delicious! I focused my efforts on dessert and made individual chocolate tarts with a salted caramel sauce and vanilla cream. We were all stuffed and I think the family members who had all driven 3 hours to get here were glad they'd come.

It was lovely to catch up on all the news from everyone and it will be nice to see them all at the end of the month for my birthday bash.
