Monte Carlo murder mystery
We had a bit of s frustrating day with the barge not working properly, and not having much power, and sods law when the engineer came out it worked perfectly. However half an hour later it was not working again so progress was very slow.
As part of Fred’s birthday celebrations we planned a murder mystery dinner and we’d all been given our characters a few weeks ago so brought along our costumes. As you can see from the photo, everyone really got into the spirit of it. We had planned to reach Napton and we’re going to go into the pub, one at a time in full costume, and pretend not to know one another until all eight of us were in.
Instead we all dressed and then walked along the canal path to find another boater to take a group photo. She of course was rather shocked.
It was a great and Sam cooked a 3 course Italian dinner of pasta, meat balls & aubergine and courgette parmigiana, olive focaccia, and lemon cheesecake.
The game was great, fabulous characters, but with some very dodgy accents. On the last page I found out I was the killer but only Chris guessed it was me.
I don’t think any of us will be looking for a career on the stage, but being on a canal boat in the middle of nowhere, with copious amounts of alcohol we lost all our inhibitions. Brilliant night!
