Bamberg

A quiet morning, so a chance to sleep in. After breakfast there was a very interesting talk by the cruise director about living under communism!!!

An invitation for “Fruhschoppen” in the lounge was accepted. The plan was to eat sausage and drink beer as a pre-lunch snack, as the Franconians do after church on a Sunday!! I’ve added a picture in extras, didn’t see the ‘pinny’ until it was seen in large :0)

We transited the last lock on the Main river before arriving in Bamberg, I took time to check out what was happening. It took an hour to complete the operation. To think that we have done 34 locks so far.

The walking tour of Bamberg was interesting, but not as picturesque as yesterday. We are now in beer country, with plenty of choice of dark, smoky flavoured ale.

After diner we were entertained by Valerie May, a super singer. She traveled the world in song and language......first class!!!
