Villefranche-de-Lonchat

Today we visited some of the villages in the Dordogne. This particular village had decorated the central square with garlands of paper flowers. We spent many hours here enjoying the peace and beautifully maintained public buildings including the town hall, library and museum, and school. We even found the old public weighing scales used to weight horse and carts - we assume as part of some kind of toll system. This evening we have enjoyed a picnic at our hotel - the leftovers from a large picnic lunch we were given as we left this morning!
