Yurt and apples

As we lay in the tent last night we could hear a family of Tawny owls calling to each other in the nearby woodland.  They made quite a noise (screeching!) for several hours so we both felt a little tired when Merlin woke up ready for the day at 6am!  We let him out for a toilet trip and to have his breakfast before having more of a rest and then a relaxed breakfast of tea and porridge.

The morning was spent in the local village of East Meon, wandering and chatting.  The village's allotment site was in an idyllic and very peaceful spot overlooking the South Downs. We returned to the tent for soup and sandwiches and to chill out some more - and catch up on a few hours sleep!  Dinner tonight was pasta, with vegetables and tuna, followed by stewed blackberries, picked by Andy.

This is one of the four yurts on the campsite.  None were occupied whilst we stayed but they are booked for the weekend.  This one sits on the edge of the orchard.
