Almond Valley Viaduct
Day off today. Car in for service and MOT at Newbridge so I decided to take advantage of the 3 - 4 hour wait by walking in preparation for Sunday’s Kiltwalk.
Managed 12 miles walking to Niddrie Castle, Winchburgh along the towpath on the Niddrie Burn, then north across the M9 and back. Really enjoyed the peace of the countryside and saw a couple of barges heading up the canal.
Passed under the Broxburn Viaduct and got this view of the Almond Valley Viaduct to the west. Built in 1842.
Car got through without too much expense although as ever there were advisories.
Aunt visit in hospital then drove to Glasgow to take part in Awaz’s programme - talking point - which fir 2 hours this evening discussed the hearings and issues around black and ethnic minority families.
Home around 22:30.
