Budapest

Back blip

We are now in Hungary. This was taken as we sailed in, there were many more during the day.....spoiled for choice.

We visited the Hospital in the Rock, which is located under the castle district in a 10km-long cave system. It was first opened in 1944 and closed after the war was over, but re-opened in 1956 during the Hungarian Revolution. During the Cold War it was used as a Nuclear Bunker. A very unusual and interesting visit. it is now a museum.

A city tour included seeing the memorial to the Jewish people on the banks of the river (In extras) so sad.

We were able to take pictures inside the Matthias Church of the art nouveau decoration. Most unusual.

After dinner we did a trip on a smaller boat to see the illuminated city........many, many more pictures.

A hectic last day of our trip.

(I have posted two blips today, a bit behind the times!!!)
