Autumn is Coming

Back home from the Western Isles. A long long drive, arriving at around 3am.  So lovely next morning - well yes, nearly lunchtime - to wake up to the warm sunshine, look out of the window to see the beautiful colours in the creeper.

The drive home was pleasantly eventful. For one thing, the sun was shining as we made our way to the ferry at Lochmaddy. Beautiful beach stop on Benbecula.  Amazing views of North Uist, especially in Lochmaddy.  Couldn't stop humming the Skye Boat Song on the ferry. 

Then we arrived on the Isle of Skye. Oh my word!  I hadn't realised how beautiful that island is. Then the experience of crossing the Skye Bridge.
Started the journey south on the mainland and as the sun set we saw a lovely castle up ahead. So well. you have yo stop and take a photograph don't you? The sunset was stunning! So I was photoing that when Mr B turned to me and said "You DO know what castle that is don't you??"  Well, of course I didn't. " Eilean Donan "is all he said. OH!
