Diary of an Edinburgher

By LadyMarchmont

A most pleasant day

Didn’t quite make it for the first rugby match this morning, but watched the France/Argentina game while on my bike. Then we had visitors, but I recorded the All Black/SA game just in case, but only missed the first ten minutes or so. Three very close exciting matches. I wouldn’t like to bet on the winners just yet...

After Archie had departed with Elizabeth, we wandered across the Links to the Japanese cafe - those tempura tiger prawns from a couple of weeks ago have been calling us... I used my new phone to pay, which is just soooo convenient.

I was also anticipating a nice coffee, and perhaps a small slice of flan, at the French bakery up the road, but it was CLOSED (Early). SOLD OUT. Tragedy!

We wandered on along to Artisan Coffee - I haven’t been there since I started my soya milk stint. Flat Whites were £2.90 + 50p extra for soya milk. Er, no... just too much. We came home and I tried the 'flat white' pod again. Not too bad. And at about 30p per pod, much more economical. Not that I’m a miser or anything...

My new little plastic case for the phone arrived (ordered only last night!) to which I attach a string with a ring on it, so now I feel safe taking photos - I can never drop my phone, even when hanging over bridges or out of windows, and even, perhaps, on a cruise ship...

Later, we wandered down to visit Rufus and his mum. Elizabeth came too, and Hazel from across the road. We had superb nibbles and drinkies.

Two BIG games tomorrow.
