Dartmoor excels
Keen to take advantage of the best weather we drove onto Dartmoor. We started off with a circular walk taking in several Tors. First on the list was Pew Tor (the main photo) followed by Vixen Tor and then onto Great Staple Tor (see extra). On the way we heard a lot of shouts and men on quad bikes and horses. As I reached Vixen Tor a line of Dartmoor ponies trotted across the stream. I assume that this was part of the annual round up.
We ended the excursion with a short walk to Foggintor Quarry. It is an impressive flooded quarry with cliffs and ruins and the source of the granite used for London Bridge.
Fabulous day topped off with a creamy Devon ice cream. A great way to round off our trip to Devon.
