A squelchy walk
I recorded the 5.15am AB game - I’m not that keen! But got up to watch the France/Tonga game live.
Becky and Daniel didn’t come today because of the inclement weather. JR went off to the supermarket and so I took Archie out to the Links. The grass was like a sopping wet carpet, so just as well I had my wellies on. Archie loves a little game of hanging back, watching, while I (or whoever is walking him) walk quite far away, then I turn and call him. He runs really fast, and gets a wee treat. He invented this game. We did it lots of times, and I began to run out of wee treats.
But there's a pet shop nearby, so we popped in there. I bought an antler for (Archie's) future use, and he let me take a handful of wee treats for my pocket.
The French bakery was closed, alas, but as we passed the next cafe, I couldn’t resist going in. I just had an ordinary flat white (they charge 50p for soya milk), and it was fine. I'm not allergic to dairy milk, so it's a fad, really.
We then continued with our little games across the squelchy putting green, and who should spot us from afar, but wee Rio and his mum. Archie and Rio used to play for ages when they were younger. I had a good catch up with Rio's mum's news.
A dreich afternoon - ideal for watching the morning's rugby match, though I knew the score. I was very impressed with Namibia in the first half!
