Monte Averau
The weather was ok again so we decided to go for a walk on the other side of the road from yesterday. We went up the Bai de Dones chairlift on its last day of the summer season. This takes you up to near the Cinque Torri, a spectacular set of towers set high above the pass. It is also the site of reconstructed WW1 trenches and buildings so we spent an hour exploring them, before circumnavigating the towers. We then went up to the Rifugio Nuvolau for a drink before taking the long way back to the foot of the chairlift. The ‘Rifugio’ at the top of the chairlift was in full on party mode as it was the last day of the summer season and the beats could be heard from a long way away. The blip is a sculpture by the Rifugio Nuvolau looking to the hills above the Passo Falzarego that we skirted to their west later. The extra some scenes in and around the Cinque Torri.
Yesterday’s blip.
