'chimping'

This is the new word to describe the constant referrring to the camera screen by working snappers - and it's not restricted to full time pros either, I'm sure we're all guilty of this.

I went for a routine eye-test this morning (still got 20/20 vision, thanks for asking) and as part of the pre-exam questionnaire the optician asked me how long I spend looking at a screen every day. That got me thinking; smart phone, camera, computer VDU - my life does seem to revolve around pixel generated images.

Yesterday was my 800th Blip without a gap - perhaps I'll slow down after the 1000 mark, start looking at the world as it is, rather than how it looks in elctronic form.
