Autumn at Hill of Tarvit
Autumn is now well established, with misty mornings and heavy dew. Guiding today and we welcome several groups after a slow start to the delights of this family house.
It is always gratifying to receive a round of applause or have someone shake your hand after a tour is completed. Visitors just enjoy being here.
Before I started, I took a quick detour to Blipfoto the Autumn colours. The mist had lifted just enough to admit some sunlight.
The extra is a bust of Mercury mounted on a marble column. This is part of the Sharp Collection.
We also have a plaster cast of Mercury at home which we found in an Antiques Shop some years back in Aboyne. Salvaged from a house about to be demolished in Aberdeenshire.
