Apple Emojis!

Today was a day for Fairwell and New Beginnings.

We attended Joan’s funeral via a web link which worked well. We had received the order of service before and were able to follow it in our rather ecclesiastical atmosphere, with the light shining through our "Hope" and "Faith" windows.

Pat thought she knew Joan very well. They had had some great chats when Pat had painted Joan’s portrait.

Joan died at the age of 99. She had trained as a nurse and a midwife. One winter’s night in the late 1940’s she had been called to attend a birth out on the Yorkshire Moors. It was winter and the weather was stormy and snowing.

She consulted with the Doctor who said he would not attend as the weather made the journey too difficult.

Joan collected all of her equipment, put on her coat and walked the several miles to ensure her "mother" successfully gave birth to a baby girl.

Joan had never mentioned this act to Pat. That is true Yorkshire grit.

At the conclusion of the service we uncorked a Bottle of Sparkly to toast Joan.

Apple Emojis?

Pat has a cousin who is finally retiring from Apple after 33 years and a few years after the date she should have retired.

M had plans to come to Europe and of course to Scotland. She has visited us before and she enjoyed her visit.

Her daughter has put out a call for videos, recordings etc so that M can enjoy them in these socially distanced times.

We have put together a "fun" Keynote presentation featuring the Apple Emojis that Pat created. Each one appears in a different Apple "scene" we created together with some other memorabilia.

The final frame is of the two of us "Cheering M" with Bubbly, and wishing her Happy New Beginnings.

The picture of Pat and I was taken in 2002 on board the "Brighton Belle" Pullman train.on route from Edinburgh to Oban.

I wonder if she will notice that the picture is 18 years old? It was an original digital and found within a couple of minutes on my 15 year old Mac Pro.

For those who are not Apple users Keynote is a rather superior version of something called PowerPoint, but that is just my opinion.
