An Unusual Expression

Dear O'H dear and Lovely Tea Jenny,

It’s Victor’s birthday today. I phoned him in the morning to wish him a happy birthday. He assured me that everything fitted - he had been sitting in his cycling shorts and cycling hat for half the morning to check!

All of us (including my bro, sis-in-law and kids) met up for lunch in Dobbies*. Victor is a man of (very) few words but when we were about to leave, he broke into a smile and announced that lunch had been ‘excellent.’ It was one of those surprisingly touching moments. He couldn’t give a toss about where we go or what we eat. He was just happy because everyone was there.
