Mme D

Best viewed large. I snapped Mme D very quickly while she was dozing in the sun this morning. She has her tiny black poodle with her. We call it the pipe-cleaner dog. They'd been joined by a very cute and calm tabby cat, so all three took a moment to profit from the sparkling winter sun.

Mme D's late husband was the honey-man who had lots of hives in various vineyards and olive groves. When he wanted to move a swarm he would put the queen in a box strapped to the back of his moped, then he would be seen driving through Roujan with an entire black cloud of bees following him to their new home.
