Visit to Basildon Park

Today my brother and sister-in-law took us to Basildon Park, a National Trust property near Reading. The weather was mainly fine and sunny although we did get a bit wet in a rainstorm once.

The autumn colours were gorgeous (see 2nd extra) but I've also chosen a couple of photos taken inside the house (which dates from the late 18th century). The main blip is a close-up of a little mirror on a rather nice barometer, reflecting some of the contents of the room (I stood to one side to avoid it being a selfie). The first extra is a rather unusual bookend seen on one of the bookcases.
