Dia da cidade

City day. All provincial capitals in Mozambique, including Maputo, celebrate a city day once per year, I think related to their official founding. Today Maputo celebrates 132 years. Whether it’s an official public holiday or not is shrouded in mystery. Some say yay, some say nay. I’ve gone for nay, and carried on as normal.

In the new larger (just) office space, my area apparently used to be the prayer room for the wealthy family who would have lived in the villa before it was converted.

In the evening I went to a meditation class run by Luis, which I think is the first time I’ve paid to go to such a thing. It was relaxing, the challenge being to embed relaxation techniques into the day to day. There are some gurus out there who do that very well given all of the crud that comes our way.
