Repairs
The only crucial part of our car that wasn't working after the unfortunate bump was the windscreen washers. We had to seal up the broken one to provide pressure to the rest. This is the sort of job Jan excels at. It's small and fiddly and involves sticking silver tape around complex shapes. She kneeled there snipping away at the tape with scissors, cutting slits all around and then the tape magically fitted and when we tried it the windscreen washers worked!
While we had the front of the car off we also reattached the cables to the driving lights and they also started working again. The car looks a little strange with silver tape all over the front on the passenger side but we do have a functioning car once more, to keep us going until the workshop can give us a date for the repairs.
This was a fairly chilly job so to warm up I split another few logs and stacked more wood, while Jan fitted out two of the Christmas trees with lights..
Later we went to the local church choir to see if it suited us - I think it did and it was really good to be back with a choir after a few years away from singing.
Another good day with lots to be grateful for!
