jeni and the beans

Painting and storytelling

One of those mornings this morning where everything seems to happen in the wrong order. Still, eventually we all managed to eat breakfast, and we also managed to get the Bean out for his haircut on time! He was good as gold and his hair now makes him look all cute and handsome instead of a crazy wild-child :)

He asked to do some painting this afternoon so I thought we'd give the homemade fingerpaints another go, and cooked up a batch. Recipe is on the blog somewhere, I'll link when I get chance.

The best bit about painting today was not the paintings we did.

It was Bean's storytelling. It's the same as his playdough play. There's a constant narrative going on. He's just starting to tell his story in this photo. He used playdough tools on the paint to tell as story, and the paint was moved all over until eventually the ice in his story all melted, and the paint was smoothed out flat again.

You'd never know to look at the painting.

But then you don't know what magical worlds a ball of playdough has been part of either, unless you were there!

An amazing afternoon.

And to top the day off, for me anyway, he actually ate some of mum's fish pie!!
