A Favourite Walk

The walk from Trafalgar Square to Parliament Square is not a long walk but it is packed full of history, sights and people!
As the years have passed so the number of statues has grown, (still no Naval statue except Nelson atop his column), and the security measures have increased.
But today’s photo shows the statue of Montgomery of Alamein, I grew up surrounded by mementos of Montgomery.
My paternal grandfather served under Monty in N Africa as a Desert Rat, in Sicily and on D Day and beyond and thought highly of him.

He would have approved of the statue.
